Taking Care of Patio Furniture During the Winter

The summer is coming to an end again and you most of use won’t be getting more use of our patio furniture. If your outdoor table, chairs, and accessories have served you well this

 year you may be hoping that they will be just as functional next year. The good news is that if we take care of our patio furniture it should be able to look and work well for many years to come. The winter can do a lot of damage though so you will have to take some action if you home to get the most from these items in the future. Here are a few tips for taking care of your outside furniture during the winter.

- Ideally you should try storing your patio furniture indoors during the winter but this is not always possible.  Luckily if your furniture is good quality it should be able to deal with quite a bit of abuse during the winter outdoors. You can protect it even further by taking a few simple steps.

- Try to cover your outdoor furniture as best you can. You will be able to buy covers to suit almost any item; a lot of furniture will actually come with these already but you may have to buy them if not. It is worth investing in good covers, but they will save you money in the end by insuring that your patio furniture lasts longer.
 
- Make sure that you give all your furniture a good clean before putting them under covers. This will ensure that they still look good when you take the covers off next summer.
 
- Occasionally check the furniture over the winter months to ensure that the covers are doing their job properly.
